Si-based anodes in lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) have shown high theoretical capacity but face a critical challenge, including significant volumetric expansion during charge and discharge cycles. This expansion leads to Si particle pulverization, electric contact loss, negatively impacting cycle stability and capacity retention. To overcome these issues, a novel PVDF-based terpolymer binder with a 3D-crosslinked network architecture was developed, resulting in improved mechanical stability and stress dissipation for Si anodes during cycling. The Si anode with this advanced binder exhibited enhanced discharge capacity, highly recovered discharge capacity, and demonstrated stable long-term cycling performance, allowing for expectations of advancements in high-performance Si-anode-based LIB development
