내용
Chlorella vulgaris was embedded in the biocomposite hydrogel of cellulose nanofibers and alginate using an ionic crosslinking process. In addition, microchannels were imprinted in the hydrogel using a template stamp which was printed three-dimensionally. The ionic crosslinking process influenced not only the growth rate of C. vulgaris but also its photosynthetic characteristics. Especially, the electrochemical performance of the bioelectrode kit was investigated by analyzing polarization and power curves under the different ion compositions of hydrogel and the exposure to light/dark conditions. The biophotovoltaic system will be applicable in fabricating sustainable bio-batteries and sensing light intensity, and providing power to small electronic devices.
