Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) is valuable chemical widely used in various fields. Recently, photocatalytic production has been attention for eco-friendly production using natural energy source. Among various candidates, covalent organic frameworks (COFs) have been focused on due to their porous, crystalline, and conjugated structure. Despite the introduction of various active sites into COFs, there was no polyimide-based COF (PIC) photocatalyst for H2O2 production although polyimide has outstanding stability, charge transfer complex, and redox activity. In this study, we synthesized dual-active bipyridine-containing PIC (PIC-BPY), and it produced H2O2 3times higher compared to biphenyl-containing PIC. The reaction pathway was confirmed with various scavenger test and electron paramagnetic resonance, and pollutant degradation was conducted to utilize OH radical generated along with H2O2 production.
