PEDOT:PSS stretchable transparent electrode for stretchable device

Poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) : poly(styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT : PSS) is one of the candidate materials for stretchable transparent electrodes in next generation devices such as OLEDs, Perovskite solar cells, and other wearable devices. However, PEDOT:PSS has low conductivity to be utilized as an electrode, so needs additional process. In this study, we fabricated a simple and cost-effective stretchable transparent electrode by spin coating PEDOT:PSS on PDMS a stretchable substrate. To increase the electrode conductivity, we employed two methods: two-step solvent treatment process using methanol and sulfuric acid, Layer by Layer process. To find an effect treatment method, we compared the methanol post-treatment and the pre-treatment. The resulting electrode exhibited 77 Ω/sq resistance, 85% transmittance, and had stretchability to 100%, in layer 2 with methanol pre-treatment. Finally, the electrode was used as Perovskite solar cell anode and exhibited efficiency of 1.65%.
