Global warming a major environmental issue, and CO2 gas is a major contributor to this problem. To address this issue, various studies have been reported to convert CO2 gas into valuable chemicals such as styrene carbonate. Tetraphenylporphyrin (TPP) is a promising catalyst for CO2 capture, but its sensitivity to light and moisture limits its practical applications. In this study, we synthesized TPP four metalloporphyrin using cobalt, copper, nickel, and zinc. Five POPs were then synthesized using the porphyrin derivatives and their CO2 capture and conversion was investigated. NiPOP showed the highest CO2 selectivity at 298K and 323K compared to the other four compounds. This result demonstrate the potential of metalloporphyrin-based POPs for CO2 capture and conversion.
