Design of non-fullerene acceptors have opened new avenues with regard to improve the figure of merits of organic photodetectors (OPDs) including well-matched energy level and wide absorption based on ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopy. In this research, we introduce photosensitive layers composed of non-fullerene acceptors and develop enhanced transparent electrodes to elucidate a cause of dark current and improve the performance of OPDs. In order to investigate the difference in dark current, OPDs are compared according to the types of acceptors and transparent electrode. The carbon-nanotube (CNT) electrode and the non-fullerene acceptor with controlled energy level reduce dark current below pA level and exhibited the higher detectivity. This work provides a strategy for promising next-generation technologies related with organic photodetector, and at the same time can make a significant contribution to increase of process yield and reduction of unit prices.
