Fabrications of Nanocellulose/PAA-<em>co</em>-PAN Nanocomposite Ionogels and their Ionic Conductive Behaviors

Ionogels have drawn great attentions due to their superior electrochemical properties with high stability for various electrochemical applications. However, ionic conductive behaviors of ionogels still need further studies for improvements. In this study, bacterial nanocellulose (BC) and poly (acrylic acid-co-acrylonitrile) (PAA-co-PAN) ionogels are fabricated and their ionic conductive behaviors are investigated. BCs are impregnated with monomer blends, followed by UV irradiations and polymerizations. The impregnation processes are finely controlled to change degree of copolymer impregnations. Internal nanostructures and degree of impregnations affect overall ion conduction behaviors. These results show that BC/PAA-co-PAN ionogels can be potential candidates for advanced electrochemical applications.
