The high sensitivity to a wide absorption area (UV, Visible, and NIR) is an important factor in organic photodetectors (OPDs).PEDOT:PSS is commonly used as the hole transport layer due to effective hole transport, electron blocking, energy-level alignment, and proper work function (Ψ). However, hygroscopic and acidic PEDOT:PSS can causes corrosion of electrode which is main issue of the performance degradation of OPDs. To solve this, pH-neutral polyelectrolyte hole transporting layers were explored. The introduction of polyelectrolytes enabled precise dark current control through energy level modulation, and detectivity and responsivity analysis confirmed a significant improvement in NIR Sensing capabilities. Therefore, polyelectrolyte as a hole transport material enabled suppressed dark current and enhanced NIR light sensing, a promising advancement for high-performance photodetectors.
