Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) is an ideal dielectric material for triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG) application because of its good chemical and electrical stability. However, PVDF-based TENG suffers from poor performance since pristine PVDF exists primarily in electrically inactive α-phase, instead of the electrically active β-phase. Herein, we embedded formamidinium lead iodide (FAPbI3) perovskite nanofillers into PVDF polymer matrix to promote the α→β phase transformation. The PVDF-FAPbI3film was prepared via 3D printing and coupled with polydimethylsiloxane film to form a TENG device. The β-phase content of PVDF-FAPbI3 film (~83%) is significantly higher than the control PVDF film (~45%). Based on the PVDF-FAPbI3 film, the modified TENG device achieved a peak-to-peak voltage (Vp-p) and of 197V and a current output of 22μA. Our results suggest that the incorporation of FAPbI3 nanofiller is highly beneficial.
