Naturally derived biostructures have various well-defined and assembled structures constructed with multiple proteins. The inherent structural benefits of biostructures can extend extraordinary structure-function correlation via biotemplating methods. However, biotemplating methods have encountered several challenges, such as the limited availability of biostructures, specifically intra-cellular biomolecules, and struggles with scale-tunability. We have previously reported a method to utilize intracellular biostructures. Based on this method, we suggest a new approach named CamBio to broaden biotemplating methods and address present issues in biotemplating. Biostructure-function correlation, scale-tuning strategy, additional functionalization, and biotemplate harvest for assembled structures will be discussed with proper applications.
