In this work, we successfully synthesized a green emitter BCzBN-BO using two MR moieties, tDOBNA and BCzBN. The solubility of the emitter was enhanced by incorporating a tert-butyl-substituted boron-oxygen (BO)-based unit. The hybridization of its LUMO played a crucial role in decreasing the necessary bandgap for green emission, while ensuring a narrow full width at half maximum (FWHM). A solution-processed green organic light-emitting diode (OLED) utilizing BCzBN-BO as the emitter attained an external quantum efficiency (EQE) of 13.19%. A narrow FWHM of 36 nm and peak emission wavelength of 508 nm were observed in the electroluminescence spectrum. Through further optimization of the device using a TADF sensitizer, the EQE increased to 14.42% and the efficiency roll-off was significantly reduced. These results demonstrate the full potential of MR-TADF materials containing oxygen-bridged boron moiety as high-performance narrowband solution-processed green OLEDs.
