Precious Metal Recovery from Various Wastes Using Selective Polymeric Platforms

In this presentation, the selective detection and separation of gold, platinum, and cobalt ions by polymeric materials from electronic wastes, auto-spent catalysts, and radioactive wastes, respectively, will be discussed. To the best of our knowledge, the current work presented in talk is the first example of the gold recovery from electronic waste and the platinum recovery from auto-spent catalysts at ultra-high purity. The general strategy presented herein can potentially be used for the separation of precious metals and hazardous metals using polymeric platforms capable of the selective detection of various kinds of water-soluble analytes.
