The demand for organo-fluorine compounds in various industries has spurred the search for efficient and sustainable synthetic methods. Among the several approaches available, electrochemical fluorination has emerged as a powerful technique for the preparation of organofluorine compounds. This method harnesses the potential of electrochemistry to selectively introduce fluorine atoms into organic molecules, enabling the synthesis of diverse fluorinated compounds with enhanced properties. In this presentation, I will highlight the effectiveness, mechanism, historical development, applications, and environmental benefits of electrochemical fluorination for organo-fluorine compound synthesis. Moreover, I will discuss the advantages, mechanistic insights, and synthetic applications of this sustainable approach, emphasizing its role in expanding the frontiers of fluorine chemistry and contributing to the development of novel and environmentally friendly organo-fluorine compounds.
