The escalating concern surrounding plastic and rubber pollution has catalyzed the pursuit of sustainable polymeric materials. Lipoic acid, a nature-derived molecule has emerged as a promising candidate for degradable soft matter due to disulfide chemistry on the resulting polymer backbone. This study presents the synthesis and characteristics of poly(lipoic acid)-based soft materials, intended for applications in pressure-sensitive adhesives and stretchable electrodes. Notably, these materials enable the efficient degradation or reutilization of organic and inorganic components upon reaching the end of their operational lifespan.
