Recent development status of type 4 composite overwrapped pressure vessel and the future of application market

We have been developing advanced composite overwrapped pressure vessels(COPV) for the hydrogen storage of fuel cell electric vehicle(FCEV). The hydrogen storage vessel, one of the major parts of FCEV, is a very important automotive part because the nominal storage pressure of FCEV is around 700bar. In addition, the designed storage pressure is over 2.5 times of the nominal one to make sure the safety and stable operation in hydrogen mobility.
Generally, the COPV has been made by wet-winding process, but we had started to develop dry-winding process and COPV for manufacturing weight-saving and mass production. Our recent development status of dry-winding COPV technology and the future market for the COPV will be introduced.
