Synthesis of photo-curable fluorinated oligosiloxane and their film properties

Siloxanes have many commercial and industrial applications such as adhesives, coatings and plastics because of the water repellency, low thermal conductivity, and high flexibility, etc. Especially, water repellency which is one of demands for improving the quality related to a reliability and stability of semiconductors, optical lenses, solar cell, automotive and display materials. In this study, fluorinated oligosiloxane with photo-curable functional group were synthesized by the sol-gel reaction and characterized. And then transparent water-repellent coating layers were fabricated using synthesized fluorinated oligosiloxane on a colorless polyimide substrate, which was crosslinked by photo-polymerization. The layers appeared transparent hydrophobicity, and good hardness as measuring above 100˚ water contact angle and as 3H pencil hardness at a load of 500g.
