We have designed an oral formulation targeting the bile acid transport system that facilitates a large permeation of rhPTH from the intestine to target sites. In addition, the bile acid transport system possessed both active and passive transport of oral rhPTH formulations using the enterohepatic recirculating system. We have proved that various transport proteins, receptors, physicochemical, and biological factors and mechanisms are involved in this complex recycling route. To date, we have proved the advantages of the bile acid transport system to target delivery of this hormone, the biophysical and biochemical stability of our proposed system.
