The objective of this study to investigate the effects of crosslinking agents and tackifiers in the linear acrylic pressure sensitive adhesives (PSAs). The crosslinker is used in the acrylic PSAs to increase the thermal stability and to maintain adhesion and cohesion strength. On the other hand, tackifiers increase the tack properties and give soft textures to the acrylic PSAs. The synthesis of linear acrylic PSAs constituted with 2-ethylhexyl acrylate and acrylic acid were characterized with FT-IR and H-NMR spectroscopies. Thermal stability and glass transition temperature of the PSA and modified PSAs were determined by TGA and DSC respectively. Surface morphology was investigated by UV-Vis and contact angle measurement. The adhesion ability of the synthesized PSAs was determined by the peel strength test. Thus, the modified PSAs with crosslinkers and tackifiers will find the possible applications by the industry.
