Sunlight driven-solar vapor generators with non-homogeneous surfaces

Water contamination has become one of the most serious challenges worldwide because of rapid civilization and industrialization. Among the promising techniques, solar vapor generation has emerged to address water shortage and contamination because of its sustainable characteristic. Various solar vapor generators have been proposed to obtain fresh water from seawater. However, these generators possess heat transfer such as conduction, convection, and radiation losses due to invalid design of light-absorption layer of solar vapor generators. We report highly efficient solar vapor generators equipped with non-homogeneous surfaces.
