Despite the large theoretical capacity of Lithium metal battery (LMB), some critical problem including lithium dendrite undermined its practical application to the real battery. Here, we report polymer/graphene oxide (GO) composite based novel hybrid type lithium protective layer to enhance the electrochemical performance of LMB. Our hybrid type protective layer could effectively suppress the formation of dendrite, resulting in improved coulombic efficiency of LMB. Specifically, polymer/GO hybrid protective layer treated LMB exhibited maintained columbic efficiency of 87.4% on average until the 100th cycles. In addition, voltage profiles indicated reduced overpotential in comparison to the electrodes without protective layer.
