In this work, microporous activated carbons were synthesized by sequential process of carbonization and KOH activation. Activated carbons (ACs) were treated with various activation temperatures. The coffee grounds and polypyrrole (PPy) were used as carbon precursors and a selective nitrogen source. ACs have various micropore distributions with notable changes of other textural properties. The structural properties were analyzed by X-ray diffraction (XRD). The morphological properties were investigated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The textural properties were measured by N2/77 K adsorption isotherms using Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) equation.
