초록

내용
Reversible deactivation radical polymerization (RDRP) is a method to obtain complex polymeric architectures with a narrow molecular weight distribution (MWD) and chain end functionalities. Through the reversible generation of radicals, RDRP exhibits characteristics of living polymerization. However, due to the unavoidable radical termination, the mixture of living and dead chains is produced. I will discuss separation and analysis of living chains of polystyrenes synthesized by atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) and reversible addition fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) polymerization, Nitroxide-mediated radical polymerization (NMP). Living chains of both polystyrenes prepared by ATRP, RAFT and NMP were separated by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Separated living polystyrene chains were characterized using size exclusion chromatography, nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), and matrix assisted laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry (MALDI-MS).
