Compressible Mesoporous Polymer Monoliths for the Selective Removal of Oils from Water

This poster demonstrates the design of compressible mesoporous polymer monoliths that can be effectively used for the separation of organic solvents from their aqueous mixtures. The network structures can be prepared via condensation polymerization and obtained as a monolith; intrinsic porosity of the networks gave rise to better selectivity and rapidity for the absorption behavior. As a result, the spongy materials were able to readily absorb most organic solvents while excluding water, and be reused after additional washing and drying.
