Allergic diseases are growing health concern, and immunotherapy for certain allergens is considered the only fundamental treatment for allergic diseases. The most widespread immunotherapy is a long period of dose escalation with a soluble antigen. Thus, a safer and efficient method is required to enhance the treatment of allergic diseases. In this study, a biodegradable poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) nanoparticle associated with allergenic antigen was developed, and the house dust mites extract was used as an antigen against the house dust mite allergy. We fabricated two different types of PLGA nanoparticles. The first type was the PLGA nanoparticle coated with the antigen, and another was the PLGA nanoparticle-containing the antigen. We compared the effect of the location of the antigen on the release profile.
