Mechanical and optical properties of cyclic butylene terephthalate/ nylon-6,6 composites

Herein, we prepared cyclic butylene terephthalate (CBT)/Nylon-6,6 composite with improved mechanical and optical properties. The formation of hydrogen bonds between CBT and nylon-6,6 molecules results enhancement of the mechanical property of the composite. In addition, the high optical transmittance of the composite was also achieved. The enhancement in the mechanical and optical properties of the composite indicated that the strategy presented in this work may helpful for the preparation of a new type of composite for making transparent substrate that can find applications in various fields such as electronic devices, flexible display, solar cells, etc.
