Res., 26, 66 2018 Phenolphthalein or 4-tritylaniline was grafted onto polyurethane and the effect of two grafted functional groups was compared. The cross-link density, viscosity, tensile stress, shape recovery, and low temperature flexibility notably improved with the increase of phenolphthalein due to the chemical cross-linking using the grafted phenolphthalein, whereas tritylaniline did not exhibit the similar increase.
