Res., 28, 327 2020 Poly lactic acid PLA was modified by reactive extrusion with tetraethoxysilane TEOS , as silica network. Despite the small TEOS loading, the complex viscosity of PLA/silica hybrids was enhanced clearly compared to that of neat PLA, especially at low shear rate. Also, the η0 was more than doubled by introducing TEOS. Thus, the hybridization of PLA and silica network influenced the rheological properties.
