Res., 28, 1064 2020 High ratio of the biocompatible 2-methacryloyloxyethyl phosphorylcholine MPC absorbs high quantity of water in the contact lenses. The addition of MPC creates a rough surface and weakens the mechanical strength of the contact lenses. It also enhances anti-protein deposition and the anti-lipid adsorption effects on the contact lenses.
