Abstract

Pressure-sensitive adhesives (PSAs) are soft materials that bond to various substrates under light pressure without the need for heat or solvents and are widely used in packaging, electronics, and biomedical applications. In this study, a bio-friendly PSA system incorporating cyclodextrin-based polyrotaxane as a dynamic cross-linker was developed to improve stress dissipation and adhesive performance. Lipoic acid-functionalized cyclodextrin units provided reactive sites for network formation. The resulting adhesive networks were characterized by FT-IR, DSC, TGA, and mechanical analyses. By systematically varying the adhesive formulations and evaluating their mechanical and adhesive performance, we identified structure–property relationships that allow for the tuning of network properties, enabling the development of bio friendly, high-tack adhesives.
