Abstract

Wafer-level fabrication of conductive materials is essential for the development of electronic devices and sensing platforms. MXene has attracted significant attention as a two-dimensional material owing to its high electrical conductivity and rich surface functionality. However, spatially confined fabrication of MXene remains challenging due to its poor adhesion and flake-like morphology. PDA serves as an adhesive layer between the substrate and MXene, enabling strong interfacial interactions through hydrogen bonding and metal coordination. Therefore, we demonstrate a PDA-assisted strategy for spatially controlled MXene patterning. The PDA layer was deposited on various substrates with a pattern width of 50 μm, and the MXene layer was selectively formed on the PDA regions, resulting in a conductivity of 1540 S cm-1. This approach provides a promising platform for the scalable fabrication of large-area micro-scale sensor arrays. Future work will focus on the fabrication of large-area MXene devices to evaluate device performance and on achieving reduced line widths.
