Abstract
The presence of abundant amine groups in PEI leads to its participation in a variety of reactions, including nucleophilic substitution, metal ion adsorption, and the capture of carbon dioxide. The synthesis of the substance in solid form was undertaken with a view to facilitating its utilisation in a variety of processes. In order to enhance its reactivity, the hydrogel was produced in particulate form. Furthermore, the spontaneous and rapid production of the hydrogel was enabled through an exothermic reaction, thereby eliminating the need for additional energy input or processes beyond stirring. This facilitates the straightforward production and utilisation of hydrogel particles. Through the strategic manipulation of the particle synthesis conditions, we have gained the ability to regulate the size of the particles, thus establishing a method for the production of hydrogel particles in a range of sizes that are well-suited for future applications.
