Abstract
Block copolymer self-assembly generates a rich variety of ordered nanostructures governed by the interplay of molecular architecture, thermodynamics, and geometry. Recent developments in self-consistent field theory (SCFT) have revealed unexpected connections between topology, symmetry, and nanoscale packing beyond the classical phase behavior of diblock copolymers. This presentation introduces the concept of gyroidal engineering, in which gyroid-derived geometrical principles serve as a framework for discovering and understanding nonclassical polymeric nanostructures. Using SCFT simulations and Landau analysis, we uncover previously unexplored ordered states and hidden relationships among seemingly distinct self-assembled phases. The results highlight how theoretical design can reveal new organizational principles and broaden the landscape of accessible polymeric nanomaterials.
