Abstract
Covalent organic Frameworks (COFs) have emerged as a promising class of materials in the realm of photocatalysis, offering a unique combination of structural and functional properties. COFs, particularly those based on imine linkages, allow a wide variety of building units, enabling their properties to be tailored specifically to certain applications. However, there are still challenges to combine reactivity, selectivity and recyclability of the photocatalyst. In order to address these challenges, a dispersion polymerization route that can synthesize dispersible COF nanoparticles is proposed. With this, COF nanoparticles, based on imine linkages, were successfully synthesized with hydrodynamic sizes up to 160 nm. In comparison to the bulk material, the nanoparticles exhibit higher photocatalytic reactivity.
