Abstract
The development of biomaterials that can promote tissue healing and regeneration is fundamental to the field of regenerative medicine. Our research tackles one of the core challenges in this field by revolutionizing the chemical tools in green biomaterial manufacturing. We address the limitations of conventional photopolymerisation - namely its reliance on toxic and UV light sensitive photoinitiators - by developing a new class of low-toxic visible-light photoinitiators. This innovation paves the way for cytocompatible manufacturing under mild conditions. This presentation will detail our approach, demonstrating how advancing the photochemical “engine” establishes a powerful new paradigm for advanced manufacturing and polymer materials.
