Abstract
Polymer gel electrolytes (PGEs) have been widely utilized in a broad range of electrochemical and ionotronic applications. In particular, ion gels composed of room-temperature ionic liquids (ILs) and copolymers are regarded as highly promising PGEs, owing to their exceptional ionic conductivity, large capacitance, negligible vapor pressure, tunable mechanical robustness, and excellent solution processability. Since the properties and functionalities of ion gels are strongly governed by the characteristics of the copolymer gelators, this presentation will focus on the molecular engineering strategies for designing effective copolymer gelators to achieve highly functional and high-performance ion gels. In addition, the talk will cover their potential applications in wearable systems and various energy-related devices.
