Abstract

Macro- and nano-hollow spheres are vital components in modern industrial coatings, prized for their low density and light-scattering properties that deliver superior white opacity. However, tailoring their physical properties via conventional routes presents persistent manufacturing challenges. This presentation showcases an innovative Pickering emulsion templating paradigm that enables precise structural control over hollow sphere configurations. By unlocking the structural and functional versatility of these bio-friendly colloidal assemblies, we present new avenues for developing multi-scale functional ingredients. The resulting hollow architectures exhibit exceptional performance in UV attenuation and oil absorption, establishing an advanced materials blueprint for next-generation personal care and consumer products.
