Abstract
Digital inkjet printing is a digital, maskless, and non-contact fabrication method that enables precise deposition of functional polymers in 3D. This talk first discusses inkjet process fundamentals, focusing on rheology of weakly elastic inks and vacuum evaporation. These process insights are extended to the additive fabrication of vertically integrated 3D organic thin-film transistors and sensors, demonstrating how layer-by-layer manufacturing can overcome the geometric limitations of planar electronics. Finally, digital fabrication is applied to healthcare through 3D bioprinting of multilayered lung tissue models on ultrathin, stretchable hydrogel membranes and their integration with organic bioelectronics for non-destructive monitoring of tissue function and dynamic responses.
