PL Plenary Lectures
The five Plenary Lectures of IUPAC-PSK50 will showcase the remarkable breadth and future directions of polymer science, spanning sustainability, electronic materials, circular polymer systems, energy technologies, and biofunctional nanomaterials. The lectures will explore innovative supramolecular plastics designed to address plastic waste and microplastic pollution, trace five decades of progress in conducting and semiconducting polymers for advanced electronics and optoelectronics, and introduce new strategies for depolymerizable and recyclable polymers toward a circular polymer economy.
They will also highlight the increasingly critical role of advanced polymer materials in next-generation batteries, from molecular interfaces to cells and battery systems, as well as emerging approaches that integrate polymer and supramolecular chemistry with living systems through bioresponsive nanomaterials and quantum sensing.
Together, these lectures demonstrate how polymer science continues to expand beyond traditional material boundaries, offering transformative solutions for a more sustainable, connected, energy-efficient, and health-conscious future.

Topics will include:

  • sustainability, electronic materials, circular polymer systems, energy technologies, and biofunctional nanomaterials.
