IDS4 Advanced Battery Materials and Interface Engineering for Next-Generation Batteries (Sponsored by EcoPro BM)
The rapid growth of electric vehicles, large-scale energy storage systems, and emerging electronic technologies demands continuous innovation in rechargeable battery materials and electrochemical energy storage technologies. In particular, advances in electrode materials, electrolyte design, interface engineering, and scalable manufacturing are essential for realizing high-energy-density, long-lasting, and safe battery systems. This special session, sponsored by EcoPro BM, aims to bring together leading researchers from academia and industry to discuss recent advances in the fundamental science and enabling technologies of next-generation rechargeable batteries. The session will feature invited presentations by internationally recognized experts highlighting recent advances in battery materials, electrochemical interfaces, and next-generation energy storage technologies.

Topics will include:

  • Advanced electrode materials for high-energy-density, high-power, and long-life rechargeable batteries.
  • Innovative electrolyte systems, including liquid, polymer, hybrid, and solid-state electrolytes.
  • Fundamental understanding and engineering of electrode–electrolyte interfaces through advanced characterization, operando techniques, and theoretical modeling.
  • Emerging battery chemistries and architectures, including lithium-ion, lithium-metal, sodium-ion, all-solid-state, and beyond-lithium energy storage systems.
  • Emerging directions toward sustainable battery technologies, scalable manufacturing, and practical applications of next-generation energy storage materials.
