High power conversion efficiency (PCE), green solvent processing, and long-term stability are essential requirements for the commercialization of organic solar cells (OSCs). In this study, we develop PM6-based terpolymer donors (PM6-DTzBX, where X = 5-20) by replacing the benzodithiophenedione (BDD) unit as the benzobisthiazole (DTzB) unit. The DTzB unit incorporated polymer donors (PDs)show higher intermolecular interaction with Y6-BO small molecule acceptor (SMA) and notable crystalline property than the reference PM6 PD. Consequently, PM6-DTzB10 PD-based OSC achieve higher PCE (16.8%) than PM6-based OSC (15.6%) in the ortho-xylene based solution processing. Moreover, PM6-DTzB10 based blend exhibit much higher thermal stability (88% of initial PCE after 100 h heating) and enhanced mechanical ductility with crack onset (COS) point of 11.7% compared to PM6 (72% of initial PCE after 100 h heating, COS = 1.7%).
