Lithium metal anodes offer great promise for next-generation batteries but face critical issues such as dendrite formation and unstable interfacial chemistry, which affect both efficiency and safety. To overcome these challenges, advanced electrolytes are needed to enhance lithium ion conduction and stabilize the anode interface. Here, we introduce bottle brush polymer with polyethylene glycol side chains as novel liquid electrolyte additive. By modulating the packing density of these side chains, we create an optimized environment that improves lithium ion migration. We investigate how the unique structural characteristics of bottle brush polymer influence the solvation structure of lithium ions at the anode interface. This approach provides new insights into electrolyte additive optimization for improved battery performance.
