Conducting Polymers Combined with Metal Nanowires for High-Performance Transparent Heaters

Conductive polymers have attracted attention in various applications including transparent heater (TH), owing to their high electrical conductivity and thermal stability. Recently, many studies have demonstrated a promising approach to improve the performance of THs by combining low-dimensional metal composites with conducting polymers, which enables to generate high temperatures. However, stability which is the key to securing the reliable operation of THs at high temperatures, needs to be improved for applications. In this presentation, we will demonstrate high-performance THs based on conducting polymers combined with metal nanowires through an optimized all-solution process. The combination effect of conducting polymers and metal nanowires on electrical characteristics and thermal stability of the developed TH will be discussed corresponding to the mechanism. We believe that this work will contribute to the polymeric design based on metal composition for heater applications.
