Transfer Printing of Photoactive Layers for Efficient, Wearable, and Dual-Function Organic Solar Cell Modules in Wireless Healthcare Monitoring Systems

While transfer printing is a highly effective technique for the efficient fabrication of films on various substrates for emerging devices, its application in organic solar cells (OSCs) has been rarely explored. Additionally, producing large-scale "dual-function OSC modules" that perform two distinct functions simultaneously within a single system is highly challenging. Through comprehensive investigations into the transfer-printing feasibility of various conjugated organic materials, we successfully demonstrate transfer-printed OSCs and flexible OSC modules. Moreover, we demonstrate the fabrication and operation of a wearable, integrated, self-powered system for wireless healthcare monitoring using these wearable transfer-printed dual-function OSC modules. These results highlight that transfer printing is a novel tool for fabricating dual-function OSC modules, significantly advancing the realization of next-generation optoelectronics.
