Lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) have limitations due to the flammability of organic electrolytes and low energy density of graphite anodes. All-solid-state lithium metal batteries (ASSLMBs) enhance safety and energy density by using solid-state electrolytes (SSEs) and lithium metal anodes. Succinonitrile (SN) is an effective organic solid electrolyte operating between -40 °C and 58 °C with high dielectric constant and lithium-ion conductivity but has mechanical and reactivity issues with lithium anodes. This study introduces PDMS and PVDF-based ASEI to lithium anodes to address these problems, improving stability and performance with a simple dipping process.
