The conventional non-bioidegradable plastics resulting in the gradual accumulation of plastic waste and subsequent environmental challenges. Biodegradable plastics have been developed as alternatives to solve these problems, and are growing rapidly in terms of technology and industry. However, the biodegradability of biodegradable plastics does not meet what is required from user aspects when used in conditions outside of industrial composting facilities. Also, quantitatively measuring the degradation rate remains challenging. In this study, uniformly sized biodegradable plastic particles were produced and subjected to degradation to quantitatively analyze the degradation rate of biodegradable plastics. The standardized uniform particles were exposed to specific conditions and enzyme environments to facilitate quantitative analysis of their degradation rates.
