The conductive nature of graphene oxide plays a pivotal role in minimizing triboelectric loss of the frictional layers after contact electrification. By taking advantage of this, a few research groups investigated and reported the influence of graphene oxide and reduced graphene oxide fillers on triboelectric performance. Here we synthesize a reduced graphene oxide (rGO) from graphite power through Hummer’s method followed by amino-functionalization (MrGO). The XRD, FTIR, SEM/EDS, and XPS studies confirm the formation of graphene oxide, amino-functionalized reduced graphene oxide, and graphite powders. Further, fabricated Silk/rGO and Silk/MrGO composite membranes using the electrospinning technique. Finally, the influence of rGO modification on triboelectric performance is investigated. The results confirm that the Silk/MrGO composites exhibit a maximum output of 700 V and 18 µA which is more than 7 times than silk/rGO (93 V and 2.5µA).
