Studies on Organic Themoelectrics Using Donor-Acceptor Terpolymers

Organic thermoelectrics based on conjugated polymers (CPs) attracts significant interests due to its applicability to wearable energy harvester in low-temperature. In particular, high charge mobility donor-acceptor-type (D-A) CPs has impacted on considerable increase of thermoelectric power factors. Advanced from conventional D-A CPs, we employed D-A random terpolymers and studied effects of ratios of D and A on thermoelectric performances. Furthermore, we compared doping efficiency and thermoelectric power factors between terpolymers and mixed two CPs comprising the terpolymers, and found that terpolymerization is much more efficient for thermoelectric applications than simple mixing of consisting CPs.
