초록

내용
Conjugating transition metals with organic π-frameworks introduces a distinctive approach to molecular photonics and electronics. Despite their potential, the photonic and electronic activities of transition metals remain insufficiently explored. My research focuses on the design and synthetic control of excited states in transition metal complexes, which feature organometallic bonds that provide strong electronic interactions between transition metals and π-ligands. In this contribution, I will outline my recent understandings including i) why Au(I) complexes are unique in electroluminescence applications and what are their governing factors, ii) how one can maximize the photoredoxcatalytic performance of transition metal complexes for photon-to-commodity chemicals production, iii) what would be the promising approach to achieving strong circularly polarized luminescence from molecules, and, finally, iv) when electroactive transition metal complexes decompose.
