In order to solve a enviromental crisis, various activities such as the development of eco-friendly materials and the implementation of low-carbon production methods are actively taking place. In this study, we have developed eco-friendly materials that can replace steel-based reinforcement re-bars used in construction structures. Traditional construction materials based on steel not only generate significant amounts of carbon emissions during manufacturing but also suffer from high corrosion susceptibility and weight. To address these shortcomings, FRP materials that can replace steel-based construction materials are being developed. In this research, we have successfully developed a thermosetting resin suitable for FRP materials used in construction structures by utilizing recycled PET. This development is expected to contribute significantly to reducing carbon emissions associated with processing PET waste and manufacturing steel-based structural materials.
