Donor-acceptor (D-A) type polymeric hole transport materials (HTMs) have gained significant interest in perovskite solar cells (PVSCs) owing to their high hole mobility and hydrophobicity. These materials could be possible alternatives to doped commercial HTMs in terms of high efficiency and stability in n-i-p structured PVSCs. Herein, we developed a D-A type polymer (Nap-T) comprising benzo[1,2-b:4,5-b′]dithiophene (BDT) and benzotriazole (BTA) backbone incorporated with long alkyl side chains to use it as dopant-free HTM in PVSCs. The alkyl side chains enhance solubility and deepen the energy levels promoting hole mobility. Nap-T can significantly passivate the perovskite and effectively lower the trap density. Notably, Nap-T exhibits a high power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 21.8%. Additionally, dopant-free Nap-T-based devices showed good stability retaining 90% of their initial efficiency after 500 h in N2 and retained over 70% efficiency in humid conditions after 400 h.
